Juvenile courts. Hidden Lives Revealed Print this page Close this window *
The introduction of children's courts was an important measure in the development of youth justice, allowing trials and sentencing more appropriate to the offender's age. Those found guilty in these courts were often sent to industrial schools. Many children came into the Society's care through this route. The Children's Society today continues working with Youth Justice issues - and acts as advocates for children and young people.
