22nd January, 1930.

S.C.D.

Dear Mr. Frost,

I am wondering whether you could do anything for poor J., the Society's first boy. He is living at, Castle Street, Frome, and from the accounts I hear from time to time respecting him he must be in a very sad way. He wrote to me a short time ago asking if there was any work we could give him by which he could augment his salary and enable him to meet his expenses. Could you kindly take an opportunity of calling upon him and then write to me afterwards and let me know if there is anything you can suggest. As you know he is deformed, and apparently he is suffering from heart trouble and insomnia. It is very sad to think that our first old boy should be in such a terrible plight.

Yours sincerely,

AJW
