February 2nd. 1899.

Dear Miss P,
Re A.

Knowing your kind interest in the above case, I beg to send you the enclosed letters which I have received this morning. I presume that under the circumstances there is no alternative but to comply with the mother's request for her daughter to be returned to her, but before doing anything in the matter, I shall be obliged if you will let me have your opinion. According to the casepaper, the mother I see is addicted to drink, and is otherwise unsatisfactory. It seems a great pity therefore that the girl should have to return to such a home.

Yours faithfully,
(s?) E. de M. R.
