26th November, '1

Rev. & Dear Sir,
I have duly received your application on behalf of the boy H, and will submit the name to the Committee on the 5th. prox: with a view to seeing whether we can help you. The Society's finances, however, are just now in a somewhat serious condition, there being a deficit of nearly £4,000 on the General Fund, but you may rest assured that we will most gladly help you if at all possible with the case. I note that it is your wish that the boy in question should, if accepted, be placed in the Society's St. Mary's Home at Runwell. I am afraid I shall have to trouble you to have a proper medical certificate filled in and forwarded me on the boy's behalf.
Yours faithfully
(sgd.) E. de M.R.

The Rev. W.
