Devizes.
28. August 1903.

Dear Sir,
re A. 9498.

I duly received your A/c of the 13th July claiming £2. 18. 10 in respect of the maintenance of this child from the 20th March to the 30th June.

Although an application was made to the Guardians to assist in bearing a portion of the cost of the boy being sent to a home, the Guardians were not aware that he had been sent to a home, and before any payment can be made towards his maintenance the consent of the Local Government Board will be required to his being maintained in such home and to the terms upon which the Guardians are willing to contribute towards his maintenance.

Will you please be good enough to inform me whether your Home at Surbiton is certified under 25 & 26 Vic cap 43 and whether the L. G. B. recognise the School.

I am
yours faithfully
O Sheppard
