Dear Sir,
re A.

I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 11th instant informing met that this lad has been placed in a situation with a Mr G., Tailor, of Holsworthy, Devon which letter I brought before the Guardians of this Union at their meeting on the 14th instant.

Whereupon, I was unanimously requested to convey to you the Board's thanks, not only for the training this lad has received at your hands, but also for the kind interest taken in him by which he is now in a situation, making, it is hoped, satisfactory progress and earning his own livelihood.
