There is very little information in this case file. W's father died of pneumonia leaving her mother to bring up several young children. Applications were made to the Society for W. and her brother J. W's mother hoped to be able to see her once she was in a Home: she was sorry to part with the child but could not help it. W. was admitted to the Victoria Home, Bolton le Sands on 7 March 1903. On 15 June 1905 she was transferred to the Corporation Sanatorium in Lancaster and returned to the Home on 4 August the same year. On the 25 May 1912 she returned to her mother in Manchester.
