(1884 - 1886)

The Home opened in May 1884 when the cottage next to that of a Mrs Marshall was leased and communicating doors between the two buildings were added. Mrs Marshall provided the furniture for the parlour and kitchen, whilst the bedrooms were furnished by donations. The children were clothed by sponsors from the area and Mrs Marshall took the role of Housemother. Its management was taken over by the Society c1886/1887.
