This boy spent several years in the Lincoln Home, before enlisting with the 1st Seaforths Regiment of the British Army and travelling to Egypt. The Society's magazine 'Our Waifs and Strays' stated that he was a 'typical example' of the Society's work, in that he had become 'a good soldier instead of a possible street loafer - or worse.'
