whatever letter we might receive from Miss Crowfoot. They naturally feel they have not been used well & especially in having the child ordered off at such short notice. However, Mrs. J was willing for the boy's sake to conciliate the mother & we wrote that he should go on Wednesday (The letter being Bank holiday had to go at once) but when she returned home, she found herself altogether in the wrong, for the old farmer sturdily refused to let the child go without a week's notice & nothing
