3rd February, 1930. F.M. re J. Dear Mr. Frost, Dr. Westcott has handed me your letter in reference to the above, and needless to say I am very sorry to hear of 's serious illness and present sad circumstances. Do your think there is any possibility of Messrs Butler & Tanner being able to give him any assistance, as I am under the impression that Smith has been in their employ for many years. It has occurred to me as to whether Sanatorium treatment could not be obtained through the local Tuberculosis authorities. I think every County Council now has its own Committee for dealing with such cases in connection with the National Health Insurance. I note what you say in your letter, but it seems to me that the poor fellow will have to be informed sooner or later of his condition, and it does seem that Overwritten in pencil: 84.2/13
