Case 362221. Letter to Miss Joyce at Tattenhall Home 21 November 1910View the Case Summary.
Copy. S/AC/M. Dear Miss Joyce, In reply to your letter of yesterday's date respecting W., I think perhaps you may not be aware that there are only about two Assistant Masters employed by the Society. As a general rule Masters and Matrons [?] are engaged to take charge of our Homes for elder boys, and if they require any further help an Assistant Matron is employed for his purpose. I think, therefore, that it would be well for W. to seek a post in some Large Institution where perhaps one or more Assistant Masters my be employed. The large majority of the Society's Homes are so small that an Assistant Master is quite unnecessary. Regretting that I am unable to send you a more favourable reply, Overwritten in pencil: [Graves] Walter
