Case 417222. Copy letter from Revd Edward Rudolf suggesting the boys are returned home 12 March 1901View the Case Summary.
12 March 1901 Dear Madam, I am much obliged to you for your letter respecting the two -- boys. Now that the mother has married again, and her husband is apparently in fairly good circumstances, do you not think that we should be justified in returning them to her care? From what you tell me the step-father is now leading a respectable life, and is quite capable of teaching his step-sons some occupation which would befit them to earn their own livelihood. In view of the fact of there being so many more pressing cases to consider, and the Society's funds being by no means flourishing, I am certainly inclined to think that we should only be doing right in adopting the course suggested. Before, however, proceeding with the same, perhaps you will be so good as to favour me with your opinion as being personally interested in the case. Awaiting your reply I remain, Printed in blue: Ansd. 12/3/1. H.G.S.
