Re E. or A. E.

The Department is endeavouring to establish the date of birth of the above named. It has been suggested that he may have been at your home between the ages of 9 and 13 and his date of birth is stated to be 1876.

Would you be good enough to refer to your records and if traced, state.

In reply to your enquiry, I should mention that according to our records I can only trace an E., who so far as I am aware was born on the 11th August 1874 at Kennington. His parents' names were H. and S. was received into the Society's care on the 1st August 1882 and entered our Clapham Receiving Home at that time his mother was living at, Stockdale Road, Battersea. The father being dead. On the 29th September, 1887, left the Society's care to be apprenticed a carpenter - a Mr. C. B. of Frome, Somerset.
