Do you like being with the other boys or alone as you were before you came here best? alone
Are you happy here? yes
Has the master beaten you? no
Has the master punished you? no
Has the Matron punished you? no
Have you had enough to eat? yes
Have the boys ever hit you? Master told J to beat me (J is another boy)
Why did J beat you? because I wet my bed
What did he beat you with? his hand
Has the master ever found fault with you for not doing your work? no
Have you been punished at any other time? no

In reply to questions he said he had only written one letter to Mrs. W in which he said he was happy & nothing about any punishment. He denied that he had every written to Mrs. W. He had never written to say anyone hit him.
