E has been a great trial to his Mother as he as not been trustworthy for many years. He has greatly improved during the last 18 months, but Mrs. [?] is still very unhappy about him, her poverty is great and she is now obliged to take her little girl back to live at home as her married daughter cannot support her longer, having to help her own sister-in-law who is a widow with two very young children - [?] Mr. H can get E onto the Indefatigable when he is twelve years old, but not before. Mrs. [?] great hopes so that the Committee will be good enough to take her boy for the two years that must elapse before the boy can be passed on to the training ship but she is quite decided that the sailors life will be best for him eventually. I do not think Mrs. [?] can give more than 1/- per week but I will [?] surely for that amount .a will advance it for her.
