Mrs. S much regrets that she was obliged to fill in enclosed form instead of a Clergyman as the Revd. Kershaw who was vicar at Hartburn during the -- were there - has retired & gone to [Ealing] in the South of England, Mrs. S could not obtain his address in time to have the form posted tonight, but Mrs. S [?] Mrs. [?] that Mr. Kershaw will gladly fill in another form if required, as the -- were well known to him - Mrs. S obtained the information from Mrs. (the child's sister) having failed to get it elsewhere - The mother died, & the children were left orphans in Mrs. -- House, & she is regarded as their guardian - She told Mrs. S that she had written to her Uncles & Aunt to help her to support the two boys - but they replied they all had families of their own & could do nothing & Mr. said the same - so both boys were out of the Morpeth Workhouse. There was another brother (a groom) who died in the employ of Mr. S angerton, who used to assist his mother with his earnings. hence Mr. & Mrs. S interest in the boys & there are going to subscribe to the Home. Mrs S of Leayes lives near Mrs. and Mr. S Angerton Morpeth, near the orphan Boys [?] further information is required.
