Case 9380

1. Application to the Waifs and Strays' Society 2 January 1903

View the Case Summary.

This is a very sad case indeed. The child was not born in wedlock. After a time the mother married a respectable fellow in the Army, who was prepared to take the [?] woman as well as the child. In sometime another child was born. Some months ago the Husband went out to his work [?] he found the wife dead. She having committed suicide. The man has had [?] much smaller [?] about 10/- a week, consequently he is no longer able to support the child, having to provide for his own little one. I consider the case very worthy of the attention of the Society.
S
Vicar [?]
