Case 949824. Letter from the Devizes Union agreeing to pay for the bucket leg 13 May 1910View the Case Summary.
Union Offices. Dear Sir, I duly received your letter of the 11th April last as to a Bucket leg required by the above crippled lad and enclosing an estimate by The Medical Supply Association offering to supply the article for 30/- and enquiring whether the Guardians could see their way to meet the cost, if so, asking for the amount to be included in the Account sent in for March Quarter. I beg to inform you that the above reached me after your Account for the maintenance of this lad, for the Quarter ended March, had been passed for payment; I, however, submitted your letter, having a favourable opportunity for doing so, at the meeting of the Guardians on Tuesday last, when the Board decided to accede to your request and be responsible for a new Bucket leg for the lad at a cost of 30/-. If, therefore, you will procure the article and add the Stamped in purple: May 14 Rec'd
