Case 949826. Copy letter to the Devizes Union thanking them for paying for the leg and continuing to contribute to A's maintenance 25 May 1910View the Case Summary.
25th May, 1910. AC/F.C. I have still to thank you for your letter of the 13th inst, from which I am glad to learn that your Board will kindly defray the cost of the bucket leg recently supplied to the above named boy. As desired, I will gladly see that the amount (30/-) is included in our next claim for maintenance, and the receipted account will be attached. You will perhaps remember that your Board only undertook to contribute towards A.'s support up to March last, but I gather that you will kindly continue the payment for the time being. I am very pleased to be able to inform you that the lad is doing good work in our Tailors' Shop at the Islington Home, and the Superintendent hopes to place him in a suitable situation in August next. His conduct and progress of late have been excellent. Believe me. Yours faithfully, The Clerk to the Guardians, Overwritten in pencil: Note
