Eythorne Home For Boys

Eythorne, nr. Dover, Kent

(1891 - 1895)

Little is known about this Home but it appears that it was officially transferred to the Society around 1891 as it is first listed in the Society's 1891 Annual Report. It was originally established in 1883 as a holiday Home during the summer months for children from big cities. The Honorary Secretary for Canterbury, Mr Blackman, originally opened the Home in Liverpool Street, Dover, giving Home managers use of the building rent free so that the only extra expense was the child's fare to Dover.

The Home closed for unknown reasons in 1895.
