St Mary's Home for Girls, FrantFrant, Sussex (1939 - 1945) The building at Frant was given to the Society during the Second World War by Commander Williams. Residents from St Mary's Home, Cheam were relocated to Frant at the beginning of the war and then moved to St Mary's Home, Great Maplestead briefly in 1944 to avoid the V2 flying bombs. The girls were able to return to Frant as soon as it was safe and the building had been kept open for their return. The girls were dispersed after the war. |
