St Mary's Home for Girls, Kibworth

Kibworth, Leicestershire

(c1940 - 1955)

St Mary's Home for Girls was opened as an Emergency War Home for residents transferred from St Mary's Home for Girls, Felixstowe.

In 1945 the building was purchased in order to allow the residents to stay there. The House became an approved School for Girls.

In 1955 the school was closed by the Home Office because of a general lessening in demand for such schools.
