Quarry Mount, Ormskirk

Ormskirk, Lancashire

(1941 - 1973)

In 1940 arrangements were made for a new girls' Home in Ormskirk, made possible by a donation from an anonymous well-wisher, and later in the year the home was named 'St Anne's'.

In 1941 residents from Scholfield Home for Girls, Pontesbury were evacuated to Ormskirk. They had originally lived at Scholfield Home in Wavertree.

In 1951 alterations were made to the Home to convert it into a Home for both boys and girls.

In the 1970s St Anne's began to be known as 'Quarry Mount' and in 1973 it received Assisted Community Home Status.
