Shrewsbury Cottage Home

Shrewsbury, Shropshire

(1882 - 1892)

The Shrewsbury Cottage Home was established in Montague Place, Shrewsbury, and run by Miss Butler with the assistance of the Bishop of Lichfield as a Home for Girls who '...have been led into sin, and are unfitted for reception in ordinary schools or training Homes.' The Home was affiliated to the Society in 1887 and moved to new premises at Belle Vue Gardens in 1890. It finally became a Society Home in January 1893 known as St Saviour's Home for Girls.
