St. Alban's Crescent

Dear Sir

re E. boarded out of Reedswich, Horsham about 48 years ago. Age about 56.

She came here for her holiday last Saturday, & I was shocked to see her looking so ill.

She was delicate as a child, & Mr. Rudolf thought she had better not go to service. She works in Leicester in the hosiery factory, it closed down, & for 6 weeks she had no work; she had 12/6 a wk from the [Leismand] Society.

If you have any Samaritan fund, a grant would be of great use to her. She bears a high character, & is a good woman. It is a hard life, she has to start at 7:30 am every day, & this winter was much pulled down by influenza. I was shocked at her appearance last Saturday, & then she would have been better cared for in service.

Yrs. faithfully.
J. (Miss)
former Sec. to Waifs & Strays at Slinford Horsham
