to have been over anxious about her new work & at the end of the week, instead of coming to me, she left the house one morning & going down to the show she [twice] attempted suicide. She was rescued at once, but of course she is now in custody - I sent at once to the Police Court hoping they would hand her over to me if I would make myself responsible for her
