I am very much disappointed that you did not understand the letter, in which I thot I had made it so clear, of June 26 last, that I must from that time, give up the engagement to support A. I sd that if a delay occurred in yr making other arrangements for her, I wd try to meet the expenses of the interest and with a great deal of toil succeeded at last in getting the promise of a letter for a four per cent
