With reference to your letter of the 27th ult. respecting the above children, I regret that I have been unable to answer the same at an earlier date, as I have been ascertaining whether it is now possible for the two girls in question to be received at our Beckett Home. This morning I hear that there the vacancies have now been filled, out, inasmuch as there are several in the Society's certified Home at Shipton under Wynchwood, I trust there may be no difficulty in arranging for them to be committed to that Home. It is the same nature as that of the Society's at Meanwood, and the children can be received on any date. As our Board is kindly willing to hold itself responsible for the payment in respect of each child's maintenance, and also for the usual amount on account for outfit, I shall be glad to hear that you may experience no difficulty in arranging the matter, but, inasmuch, as we receive a large number of applications for vacancies in our certified Homes, it is difficult to reserve the
