Dr. B. is not well off, and has a large family, and his feeling is that it is very hard upon him to have suffered the loss he has from the girl's acts and be called upon to return new articles purchased with his money while the girl was in his service. He is prepared to send back the box containing those articles which the girl brought into service with her, and of course the bank book which is of no use whatever. My advice is that the Society should accede to this, and I think, though this is a matter for the Central Committee, that a little more "suaviter in modo" should be adopted on the part of the Local Committee.
